WHAT:

Effective 2012, JohnPaul will only be photographing 10-12 weddings a year! We will have other highly qualified photographers from our team available with similar styles and will certainly deliver the Photography by JohnPaul Studio quality everyone has come to know and trust for the weddings in which JohnPaul has not been booked for.

WHY:

JohnPaul is involved in a huge new project that we will be announcing in mid 2011 and launching in 2012. This project will take up an enormous amount of his time and because we certainly do not want to diminish the amazing customer service our studio is known for, we will be limiting the amount of weddings he personally does to ensure continued top quality and attention to those customers!

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:

For those booking in 2011 .. you’re still in luck and if your date is available, JohnPaul will be at your wedding. For those booking in 2012 .. hurry and make sure to book as soon as you set your date, to ensure JohnPaul will be there… once we hit 10-12 weddings, his book will be closed.

SPECIAL THANKS:

Thank you to all our customers and friends…. this entire experience has been quite humbling and I am very honored and proud to have so many supporters and current and future customers that love my art so much, they keep up with our work and our lives. It’s because of my true love and passion for photography that I am closing off my calendar after 10-12 weddings in 2012 and beyond…. because I want to continue to make each and every one of my customers feel the way I make my current customers feel… as though they are my top priority and my friends. Jessica and Alex had a beautiful ceremony and wedding at the Bank of America Building in downtown…. While we were packing up to head to the hotel, what appeared to be a monsoon was happening, all I kept thinking was “oh no” because her ceremony was outdoors…. Well it appeared that mother nature was on their side…. it did not rain in Downtown and the show went on as planned! Jessica looked beautiful and Alex was so calm (usually grooms are a little nervous, but not Alex). Because of time constraints and it being a little hot outdoors there was not as much time as we would have liked to photograph this amazing couple, but stay tuned for a “Day After” Shoot.

Danielle & Michael’s Day After Shoot!!

Well Danielle and Michael had beautiful images from their wedding day, but we did not have nearly enough time for all that we had planned, so they did what most couples are opting to do … a Day After Shoot… now remember this does not need to be the Day After your wedding (Danielle and Michael got married in June). So we had a GREAT time with them …. we almost got shot at with a pellet gun in downtown, we had lots of fun with baby powder and JohnPaul and I even became God parents to their new little kitty Cleo (a sweet little kitten we found in downtown) that they decided to rescue (thank God, cause I was totally going to take it home and then JP would have divorced me had a brought another cat home… we already have 2 kitties, Missy and Tinkerbell and our mini doxie, Daisy) Overall, we had a wonderful time… but most importantly of all the images are SICK!!! Kelly & Chris’ Day After / Trash the Dress Shoot

Kelly and Chris had given JohnPaul lots of time during their wedding, but they have so much fun taking photos, they knew they wanted to do a “Day After” / “Trash the Dress” shoot … not to mention Kelly wanted to get wet… so we made sure they got wet… LOL. People sometimes ask me how we get inspiration for shoots…. sometimes we brain storm with the couple to get ideas and other times (like this time) we get inspiration from fashion magazines…. I saw an ad with fire and since Chris is a firefighter, we wanted to incorporate the element of fire into a photo… having been in a area with junk, we took advantage of a mattress and set it on fire…. we couldn’t make the fire go too crazy, since there were a lot of trees and bushes around… but we think image looks pretty sick! BOOK YOUR SHOOT TODAY… C’MON, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!

Amber’s Quince Shoot!

Well, by looking at these photos you would never guess that Amber is shy…. well according to mom she is! Amber did such an AMAZING job during the shoot and was a trooper the entire time. What we did with Amber that we do with all of our customers is make her feel comfortable and we made sure she had lots of fun in the shoot. From strutting her stuff like she was on America’s Next Top model, to making her laugh with whoohaa comments (lol), to having her give us “the eyebrow”…. Amber is the only other person I know, other then me (Elizabeth) that can turn on the eyebrow look on command. We had a blast with Amber on her shoot and are looking forward to her big birthday bash in September!

Ely and Max Say “I Do”!

Like most couples Ely and Max planned their extraordinary day and looked forward to it being the happiest day of their life. The 24 hours before their big day they had a lot of unexpected surprises, but everything turned out beautifully! Despite the surprises this wonderful couple celebrated their love with their family and friends and a lot of amazing things… like the grooms ring that actually moves, a canon of confetti after the ceremony and even a jump in the pool after the reception was over!!!

Danielle and Michael’s BIG DAY!!!!

Danielle and Michael’s wedding day was perfect. The day was said to be cloudy with 50% showers…. but it could not have been any more beautiful! While shooting the getting ready shots, I (Elizabeth) went to photograph Michael getting ready and to get the rings from him… well not only did I get to see Danielle’s surprise (of a gorgeous wedding band that she was not aware of) I sat in during his video interview with Free Mind Studios and what he said was so beautiful, I was squirting tears! The ceremony was gorgeous and the look on Danielle’s face when she saw the wedding band was priceless (we did not include that photo below… there too many amazing images to choose from). The party was fabulous with the beautiful decor and flowers done by Vivian Colls. The party even had a special appearance by Baby Carlos… a doll that apparently was the chaperone during Michael’s bachelor party! The night was memorable and we were very honored to be a part of it. We’re looking forward to their Day After shoot! Hope you guys had fun in Mexico! xoxo

We’ve been at our current studio for the past two years…. we decided to make some changes and make sure that our lobby area, matches the style of our photography. Very chic, modern, fun and sophisticated. With the help of one of our previous couples, Katie and Ruben, who own an amazing design firm (Errez Design) our vision came to life. For those of you who frequent our blog, you know that when we travel, we always post on our blog upcoming dates should anyone be interested in joining us to be able to take amazing photos (E Session, Trash the Dress or Day After shoots) somewhere other then South Florida. Alicyn and Jon took advantage of this and joined us in the Bahamas! We had such a great time with them! We had adventure after adventure from getting use to driving on the wrong side of the road (and frequesntly forgetting!) to driving around in a tiny car called a Cheri QQ (when we rented it, they asked how many people was the car for and we said four… when they asked how big the people were, we knew we were in for a treat!) We even had a psychotic cab driver, who was very open about not so nice things he had done…. ooooohhhh the stories we can tell.. LOL! But amongst all the fun… we also took some very amazing photos, including underwater images! Grace and Roan’s Big Day!!!!

Grace and Roan had a beautiful wedding with lots of family, friends and of course FUN! We were able to take beautiful portraits of this awesome couple the same day, because they did the unveiling (which is when the bride and groom see each other before the wedding and because of this give us plenty of time photograph them and they get to enjoy their cocktail hour!) The day was full of unexpected surprises from Roan giving Grace a beautiful pair of earrings and Grace returning the favor by giving Roan an autographed Tim Tebow panoramic photo of his last game at the swamp! To the guys pulling down their pants during their photos (see below…lol) and then all the couples walking into the reception with the girls wearing bikini tops over their dresses and the guys wearing the bikini bottoms over their pants. We had a great time sharing their special day with them and are looking forward to sharing the rest of the images with them! xo

We love to get to know all of our couples! This really helps us in the planning process for their photos, especially for their E Session! Jessica and Alex originally wanted to do a beach wedding, but decided not to because of the time of year of their wedding (August) and mother nature being so unpredictable … not to mention the heat! So instead they will be doing it at Sky Terrace with a breathtaking view of the beautiful Miami Skyline! So when planning their E Session, we knew we had to incorporate not only the beach, but the Miami Sky line too. Looking forward to your big day guys!!!!

Past, Present and Future Cocktail Party

On May 20th we had our annual Past, Present and Future cocktail party, to not only get together with current customers, but to catch up with previous ones and allow potential new clients the opportunity to come in and talk to other customers that have already worked with us and really know what its like to work with us. We were also very excited and took this opportunity to show off the studio with its newly renovated and chic look, thanks to some help from one of our previous couples, Katie and Ruben who are also designers for their own firm, Errez Design!!! Once people came in, we had them come into the studio and take a formal photo and then a funny one with some of the props we had there. For those of you who we did not photograph… we’ll get you next time! These photos were complete shot by me (Elizabeth) with the exception of a couple that were shot by Karl of Artistic Film Productions and my friend Rosie. Check out some of the images below. A special thank you to my best friend Melissa Medina for doing such a fabulous job with my hair and make up and also a special thank you to Beatriz of Elite Cake Creations for providing the delicious dessert for the evening. So Jessica and Gabby came to us wanting bright, colorful pics including some photos including graffiti…. during the first shoot, because of our tropical South Florida weather, mother nature decides to unleash her wrath with seemed to be a monsoon…. we were able to get about 45 minutes during that shoot…. so we rescheduled and not only did mother nature cooperate… they did such a GREAT job, this post only has images from the last shoot!

Angie & John’s Bimini Destination Wedding!!

Angie and John had a beautiful destination wedding in Bimini. This gorgeous island is just a 17 minute flight from South Florida and John and Angie assured us that we would LOVE it… they were right!! For their special day, they were surrounded by not only beautiful scenery, but family, close friends, bon fires and lots of fun! The day could not have been more perfect and although the wedding had a late start and some of our portrait ideas around the island could not happen because of time constraints, everything turned out beautifully! Can’t wait till they get back from Italy to share their images with them!!!

We are always on the constant quest of making sure all of our couples have original shoots tailored just to them and their interests. We always try to get to know the couple and really learn what they are into. When meeting with Ely and Max we brain stormed and we told them of some of our original ideas, including a drive in scene for an E Session and the LOVED the idea! Effective immediately, our studio will be asking three basic questions when a customer seeks information on our services.

1. Will the bride and groom be seeing each other before the ceremony?
2. Will you be able to provide at least one hour for portraits after the ceremony?
3. Will you be doing a “Day After” shoot?

In order for our studio to accept your wedding, you have to respond “Yes” to at least one of those questions. Why? No, we are not turning into “Divas” we merely want to provide all of our customers with amazing works of art that can only be obtained when ample time is provided!

That being said, we wanted to show you an example of a wedding album, where the couple, our squirrels (inside joke…lol) Andrea and Jason gave us over 2 hours of shooting time for their portraits. This allowed us not only the time to photograph amazing images, but let us mix it up with different locations! I hope this is a testament to our customers on how seriously we pride ourselves on making your photographs as special and amazing as possible!

Michelle & Julio Tie the Knot

For Michelle and Julio’s big day, I (Elizabeth) was not photographing, I was JohnPaul’s assistant for the day, so I really got to enjoy their wedding from the perspective of a guest…. and because of that perspective, I noticed that throughout the entire church ceremony, Julio would look at Michelle with adoring eyes … it was the sweetest thing! The day was beautiful, they looked amazing and the details of their event were phenomenal! Here’s a sneak peak of their wedding day!

For our techy and industry friends…. this was filmed with a Nikon D3S at ISO 12,800 … we wanted to bump up the ISO and see what kind of quality would come out from such a high ISO. Alter Ego Marathon – PIN UP!!!!

For those of you who frequent our blog, you know we had an Alter Ego Marathon last week and we had a blast allowing girls to explore their “Alter Ego”

We had 5 girls … 3 of which will be giving their Alter Ego photos to their fiances as a gift on their wedding day, so for that reason, we will not post those…. but we are able to post Jenny and Dena’s photos! Move over Kardashian sisters …. The Karborani sisters are crashing the scene! Jenny and Dena shot their Alter Ego’s as Pin-Up beauties! They look AMAZING! Because of the popularity of the Alter Ego Marathon, we plan on doing them on a Bi-Monthly basis… so comment below if you like what you see or if you would like more information on these sessions!!!!
